William Klingel - Passed away Saturday, April 6, 2002 at home. Bill was born August 19, 1929 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Harry and Laura (Mikesell) Klingel. Bill was a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, then worked as a car salesman for Orrin B. Hayes before his retirement in 1992. Bill was an avid golfer. He could tell you exactly how many holes he played each season. He was also a die-hard basketball fan, whether it was watching his granddaughters play high school basketball at Paw Paw, or cheering on his beloved Indiana Hoosiers. On June 17, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Bill was united in marriage to the former Jean C. Moreland, who survives. Also surviving are 5 daughters, Karen (Shane) Klingel-Yu of Athens, GA, Janice (Louie) Abnet of Paw Paw, Kitty (Marty) Flatland of Kalamazoo, Judy (Paul) Cutting of Kalamazoo, Amy (Jay) Plucinski of Mattawan; son, Rick (Jenny) Klingel of Kalamazoo; 13 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bonnie Boughton and Marge Egnew, both of Three Ri!
vers; 2 brothers, Dave Klingel of Sapphire, NC, Tom Klingel of Snellville, GA. Friends are being received Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home Paw Paw with a Vigil service at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan, Celebrant. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo. source: Kalamazoo Gazette April 8, 2002
