Mrs. Elisha Wilson died at her son's home in South Haven, Wednesday morning of last week. The remains were brought here for interment in the Harrison cemetery. The services were held at the Methodist church Saturday at one o'clock, by the home pastor, Rev. Clemmens. Mrs. Wilson was one of the pioneer women of Southern Michigan and was much beloved by a large circle of acquaintances. Her husband, Elisha Wilson, died by a few months ago. Two sons are left to mourn their loss, Chas. of South Haven and Harry of Scotts. Sarah Farrar was born in Cuyahoga county, Ohio, November 10th, 1827. At the age of 5 years, her parents being dead, she moved to Pennsylvania where she lived with an uncle. At the age of 20 she moved to Prairie Ronde, Michigan, where she resided with her sister until February 27, 1853, when she was married to Elisha C. Wilson. To this union four children were born, Leroy A., Charles A., John F. and Harry E. They then moved to Climax township where they li!
ved until 1902, when they came to the village of Scotts, and resided with their son, Harry E. until the death of her husband October 18, 1904. She then went to South Haven to stay through the winter with her son, Charles A. On December 31st she fell, breaking her hip, which afterward resulted in her death, March 22, 1905, being aged 77 years, 4 months and 12 days. She was a patient sufferer and died trusting in Christ. She is survived by two sons, Charles of South Haven and Harry of Scotts, three grandchildren and one sister. She was a kind and loving mother, and will be sadly missed by a large circle of friends as well as by the immediate relatives. source: Climax Cereal Mar 30, 1905 (submitted by a volunteer, not a family member) Note: there are various spellings of the name Farrar including Ferrer
