BULLOCK, Edward Merrill "Ted"
On the evening of April 8th was taken home to the Lord. Ted served his country in the Asian Pacific Theater from 1943-1945. In 1947, his friend Charlie Snyder introduced him to Betsy Frumau. On October 8, 1947 they married in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ted was much loved by his in laws, Ernest and Elizabeth (Schoolenberg) Frumau, Nick Framau and Cora Snyder. Ted retired from the Brown Company after 34 years of service. Bets and Ted enjoyed their retirement years with shared interests in travel and camping. Family gatherings were always a highlight in their lives. Many priceless memories are left behind with surviving family members. Uncle Ted and Aunt Betty enriched the lives of three generations of nieces and nephews. The last few years were difficult as Ted suffered a fall and recuperated, then Alzheimer's took Bets more and more from Ted. After Bets was admitted to Borgess Nursing Home, Ted had a second fall that hospitalized him. Things were critical for a while. With family a!
ssistance he was placed in an exceptional adult foster care home and regained his health. Associate pastors Helene and Richard Baker led Ted to accept Christ as his Savior. They contributed greatly to his regaining health. On October 8, 2002, staff at Borgess Nursing Home gave a wonderful celebration on Bets and Ted's 55th Anniversary. On October 29, 2002, Bets passed away with family members at her side. The last months of Ted's life were spent in his home with family members attending to his needs. He and Bets were much loved and will always be remembered. Preceding Ted in death are his parents, brother John Bullock, half-brothers Larry Pierce, and David Pierce; Half-sisters Eleanor Chamberlain, and Leonarda Baker. Still surviving is brother Darwin Bullock, and the many nieces and nephews who loved him. Interment was private at Mount Ever-Rest as requested.
