Mr. Hoffman died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born May 4, 1927 in Detroit, the son of Wilbur and Lillian (Craig) Hoffman. He graduated from Denby High School. During 1945 and 1946 Earl served in the U.S. Navy. He worked 34 ? years at Consumers Power Company, where he was supervisor of the Bryce Morrow Plant. He was a member of the Hickory Corners VFW, Kalamazoo Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge in Stuart, FL, and Moose Lodge in Jensen Beach, FL. On July 19, 1947 Earl married Evelyn Chalker, and she survives. Surviving are sons, Richard (Linda) Hoffman and Russell (Debbie) Hoffman of Richland; daughters, Sheryl Hoffman of Richland, Susan (Bob) Alkema of Hickory Corners; grandchildren, Terri Hoffman, Joni Hoffman, Christi (David) North, Mindi (Mike) Carr, Marci Hoffman (Nick Kakabeeke), Greg, Melissa, Rob and Meghan Alkema; and 7 great-grandchildren.
