Walnut Creek, CA

Passed away March 18, 2005 in Walnut Creek, CA, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Dale was born September 13, 1944 in Salt Lake City, UT. He earned his Undergraduate and Masters Degrees and Doctorate in Microbiology at the University of Utah. He married Jean Racker on June 17, 1965. Dale is survived by Jean, their 3 children, and 8 grandchildren. Dale spent 10 years researching cancer and virology at the Upjohn Company, and he founded 3 successful biotechnology companies: Myraid Genetics, Cognetix, and Acacia Biosciences. He was most recently CEO & President of Berlex Labs. Contributions in Dale's honor may be made to UCSF Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, Box 0248, San Francisco, CA 94143-0248.
