PALMORE, Mr. R.C.

Passed away April 3, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI. R.C. Palmore was born November 2, 1919, the fourth of eleven children, to Henry and Delcie Palmore, in Hope, AR. R.C., the American Patriot, was a proud and decorated veteran of WWII. His combat experiences reaffirmed his faith in the power of prayer. He often acknowledged the fact that prayer brought him home. R.C., the gentle family man, relocated his wife and son to Kalamazoo in 1948. He worked for many contractors as a skilled craftsman and was a loyal union member. R.C., the Deacon, was a founding member of two churches in Kalamazoo, and active in a church in Covert. R.C. was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, James, Otis, Robert, Ernestine and Henry. Those who remain to cherish his memories are his devoted wife of 61 years, Flordia; only son, Richard (Marthann) of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson, Richard III (Brenda) of Oklahoma City, OK; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Elbert !
(Mavis), Hildreth (Ethel) and Horace, and two sisters, Lucille (Clarence) Carter and Zelma (Earl) Sykes, all of Kalamazoo; and his nieces and nephews, who were all very special to him and will forever remember the good and fun times spent with "Uncle C." Services will be held 10:00 Saturday morning at Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C., 3210 Virginia, with Elder Edward D. Palmore, officiating. Burial in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery will follow services. Friends may meet the family at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial gifts should be directed to the Youth Group of The Upper Room, C.O.G.I.C., PO Box 295, 925 W. Mosel, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
