Mrs. Margaret M. BURROUGHS - Kalamazoo, MI, died Monday evening, March 9, 1998. Mrs. BURROUGHS was born October 31, 1914 in Hamlet, North Carolina, the daughter of Rufus M. and Minnie (MASKE) GALLOWAY, and had lived in Kalamazoo since 1990, previously living in Muskegon, MI. She graduated from Elon College in North Carolina with a teaching degree and taught in the public schools for several years in Muskegon. Upon her retirement, she traveled extensively and two of her favorite places were Hawaii and Russia. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. BURROUGHS in 1990, and a twin brother, Marion GALLOWAY. Surviving are 3 daughters, Brenda (Joseph) WATTS of Manchester, NH, Kay (Bob) BARNHART of Richland, and Hilda BURROUGHS of Lansing, MI; 3 grandchildren, Helen BARNHART, and Joe and David WATTS; and 2 sisters, Sue OWEN of Pinehurst, NC, and Peg CHAMBLEE of Surf City, NC. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. there will be no visitation or ser!
vices. Private inurnment will be in Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Muskegon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society of Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo.
