Mr. Arthur L. BRIGMAN - Died December 17, 1997. Art was born in Rockingham, NC, on March 10, 1917, the son of Levi and Alice Francis (GERNIGAN) BRIGMAN. He retired from Meijers, having been a baker for several years. He was an excellent pilot and flight instructor. Art was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. He attended schools in Danville, VA. He was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral, the Plainwell Pilots Assoc., AARP, and AOPA. He was preceded in death by a brother, John C.; and a sister, Myrtle. Surviving are his wife, Margaret, whom he married September 20, 1944; 4 children, Wayne and Sandy BRIGMAN of Portage, Merita and Cpt. Daniel GABRIEL of Naples, Italy, Marilyn BOYD of Kalamazoo, Mark BRIGMAN of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren, Amy, Karen, Sara, Tim, Tonya, and Anne; 2 sisters, Ollie Mae WELLS and Chleone PROPST, both of Danville, VA; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Funeral Services will be held at the Redmond Funeral H!
ome Westnedge at Kalamazoo, Saturday, December 20, at 5:30 p.m., Fr. Thomas Seidel, C.S.C. officiating. Interment Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meals-On-Wheels or the charity of the donor’s choice.
