SCHUMM, Anna A.
Kalamazoo

Passed away Monday, May 2, 2005. She was born December 19, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Roy and Amelia (Henzler) Castor, and had been a resident of Kalamazoo for 48 years. She was recently preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward, who passed away Friday, April 29. Ann was a long time active competitor in women's bowling leagues, winning numerous awards and trophies. She devoted much of her time to being a fabulous cook and gardener. Her culinary skills were especially marveled during the Christmas holidays, winning a number of awards for her gingerbread houses, which she designed, baked, built and entered in the annual Festival of Trees Gingerbread House Competition sponsored by the Kalamazoo Junior League. Ann had quite an artistic flare with ceramics, garden landscaping and holiday decor, and she found much joy in gathering an extraordinarily large collection of penguins. Ann is survived by her son, Craig (Patricia) Schumm of Portage; her daughter!
, Carol (Jorge) Cuadrado of Miami, FL; and her grandchildren, Bryan Daniel and Casey Schumm, both of Kalamazoo. Cremation has already taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Her family requests that donations in her name be made to a charity of choice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 South Burdick St.
