Passed away Nov. 17, 2006 at home. Jeff was born on October 23, 1945 in Traverse City, but grew up in Kalamazoo, MI. He spent most of his adult life in Boston, but returned to Kalamazoo to marry and be with his wife, Margie Cigoy. For all Jeff's adult life, he was interested in creativity which expressed itself in four intertwining career paths: Artist - Jeff has drawn and painted since he was a child and, after art school, also created large scale environmental artworks. He spent two years at MIT's Center for Advanced Visual Studies and three years as Artist in Residence to the City of Cambridge, MA; Consultant - he worked for 20 years with Synectics, Inc., a consulting firm helping Fortune 500 companies innovate; Author - Jeff wrote and co-wrote two books, one on city wide public celebrations, and one on corporate - wide creativity - the latter was published by the Harvard Business School in five languages. He also published several articles on the topic of personal creat!
ivity; and Entrepreneur - he co-founded three corporations over his adult life, two were non-profit and art-related, and the third was a for-profit company that made personal creativity software. He went to Western Michigan University, Boston College, Massachusetts College of Art and two years at MIT. He is survived by his wife, Margie Cigoy and his two wonderful children, Daniel Mauzy, currently in New York and Suzanna Mauzy, currently in Madison, WI and his two step-children, Carla Thacker in Providence, RI, and David Thacker in Boston. He is also survived by his brother, Chris Mauzy, and his wife, Rose and several cousins, an uncle and an aunt. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace Mauzy, both of Kalamazoo. Memorial Services will be held Dec. 2, 2006 at 1PM at
