You might want to try calling St. John's Home here in Grand Rapids. They had an old orphanage on Leonard St, have since moved to Knapp. Their number is 616-361-6435. If they don't know they might be able to tell you more. It is the only children's home I can think of in the city that isn't a detention facility.
