Regarding the Overly family.

In the Kent County 1880 federal census, there are Overly's in Nelson Township. Cedar Springs is on the south end of Nelson Township and Sand Lake is on the north end. The Overly's mentioned are Jacob, Joseph, Martin and William.
If you will look on the Kent Co. GenWeb site, you will find some Overly's buried in East Nelson Cemetery.

I believe that East Nelson Cemetery was a little south and east of Sand Lake.

On the main page, look for Resources, click on Cemeteries, then Nelson, then East Nelson.

Also, if you go on this same site under Resources, you will find under Societies, then townships, an address for the Cedar Springs Historical Society. They might have some information for you.
