Sorry, I think the 1860 is a different Andrew Irons. The 1860, Andrew Irons, looks like this,
IRONS, ANDREW, 23, M, W, CAN, A,MI, KENT, CASCADE 1860 Married to a woman named Rebecca, age 23, born England, son, William, age 1.
On the Familysearch.com there is a Andrew Irons marrying a Malinda Dempsey, in Hamilton, Tenn. Dec. 2, 1865. this would work with the Civil war dates.
Here is the 1870 census info:
IRONS,ANDREW,37,M,W,SCOT,TN,HAMILTON,2-WD CHATTANOOGA,1870
1870 has your Andrew Irons with Malinda, 19, James, 4 and Christina, 2.
If the above marriage date is right he married her when she was 14.
In the 1880 census it says he is 42 while the 1870 says he is 37. Thats only 5 years difference.
Had no luck finding him in the 1860 census. Sorry. Doesn't mean he isn't there just that we haven't found him.
Barbara
