Thank you so much for locating and posting these.

Interesting that the age looks like 101 for Eleanor, as the 1900 Census lists her DOB as Sept 1839. Too bad they did not list any details about parents or their roots in PA. I did find Daniel listed in the cemetery index for Oak Hill (http://www.rootsweb.com/~mikent/cemeteries/grandrapids/oakhill/k.html) as having been in Co. M 198th Penn. Vol. Inf.

After digging deeper in the Census records, I did find Daniel (25, carpenter) and 'Ellen' (30) with daughter Mary (2) living in Robeson Twp, Berks Co near her parents and other Bitler families. I'll have to do more digging to determine when they moved to Grand Rapids from Ft Wayne after 1880.

I did have the appoximate dates for sons George and Harvey, but I do not have exact dates or the obits. If you could post them, it would be much appreciated, and might make it possible for me to find a living descendant to get more information, and attempt to bring this branch up to date.
