Not sure where available but heard about a book by Mark STEIN.

How the States Got Their Shapes.

Might be interesting to read through, not sure if it is had any
genealogical links or references.

Hi Diana

I too would be very interestd.

I think I just snet an email to the wrong party.

RE MILLS of New Jersey.

I notice your surname is WARD and that surname does cross paths with my
MILLS over time.

Thank you.

Am interested in whether or not James MILLS who married Sarah REED is
related to John MILLS who married Rebecca SMITH.

James and John are both listed as from Sussex Co. NJ.

But I have not found any land records as to where they were living at the
times.

Thank you

Pat

Hi, Paula.? Camden is a waste of time, unless you know your way around.?
I've gone there for 35 years and have never had help from them.? They
keep
getting new people, so no one really knows anything.? If you ever decide
to
hire someone to get info for you, give me an email and I will help.? I'm
reasonable, and knowledgeable.? Diana in NJ

--Hi,
??? I went last summer from Florida.? My tip would be plan your time
carefully. They are open on certain days at different times. I spent 2
hours in
the parking lot waiting for them to open.? But once I got in, the ladies
were very helpful and friendly. I I found loads of information. It was
worth
my time.? I can't wait to go again, but it's a long drive......I went to t
he one in Camden 2 years before and it was a waste of time.? I waited
there
too for them to open.? Someone came out and asked what I wanted and I
told
her I was from Florida.? She said OK and went back in and opened 1 hour
later. Then she said she was closing early so I had only a couple of
hours. ?
The lady was very unhelpful and down right unfriendly. I tried not to
bother her and I didn't expect her to open early but it sure would have
helped
if she would have shown me where things were once I was in.? Things they
say
they have on the web site, when I asked for them I was
?told "that's private or there's not enough time to get that out.? To be
fair she was a substitute lady or maybe a part time person, she told me
the
one who was usually there was sick.

????????????????? Have fun,?????? Paula

ear Listers,
? ? ? I have an opportunity to spend a few days in New Jersey and I
want to try and find some marriage records that would be circa 1815-
1830.
? ? ? I have heard that Camden is a good place to do research, but was
wondering if someone could give me some "pointers" as to where to
go so I could make my visit as effective as possible.
? ? ? I am researching the ROSEMAN family and have found military records
that indicate my William ROSEMAN was born in Gloucester Co. Since I
want to find his parents and siblings and his marriage record, I thought
MAYBE Gloucester could be the place to start.
? ???Would some kind soul shed some light on WHERE to start for these
older records????
? ???THANKS!!!!!
? ? ? ? ? Elaine May? (Florida)
? ? ?
