I am researching CRONEN, Edward. I just found out he is buried at the St. John's section of Ishpeming Cemetery. He died in 1906. He had two brothers James and Patrick. The cemetery informed me due to the loss of burial records, they recreated the cemetery records by walking and taking information off headstones. Since I know the family was Catholic, does anyone on the list, no if the local Catholic church has records? I would like to get date of death. Also, if successful I would like to obtain a copy of Edward death certificate. Any idea if I should write to state or should I write the locality. I am not familiar with Michigan Vital records. Edward Cronen was the brother of my great grandfather James CRONIN. I am told his wife Catherine and one daughter died in Marquette County sometime between 1870 and 1879 and church records maybe the only source of information. They may be buried at Ishpeming but since the cemetery has incomplete information it going to make finding further information quite difficult. Perhaps a fellow lister has been down this path before. I know my great grandfather died in Pittsfield MA and his death certificate did not list parental information. Perhaps I will have better luck with Edwards death certificate, if I can find out when he died. Any idea if the local newspapers obits are available? Thanks for the suggestions.
