Hello,

Josiah Littlefield (who married Rachel Root) was also my 4th great grandfather. I am trying to determine whether he is the same Josiah that was born to Josiah Littlefield and Eunice Hunt.

I determined Josiah (m Rachel) was a part of my family from this biography of another ancestor: http://www.ingenweb.org/indekalb/dcibp/dcbio/1885/littlefield-john.j.txt. It mentions Josiah and Rachel had property in both Oneida County, NY and Michigan.

The fact that Josiah and Eunice had a son named Josiah, and that they eventually moved to Petersburg, New York, suggests that their son Josiah and the Josiah who married Rachel Root are the same person. But I cannot be sure of this without a reliable source of information linking Josiah Littlefield of MI/NY to Josiah Eunice, such as a parent's name, place of birth, etc.

In short, if you have information about the parents of Josiah Littlefield (m Rachel Root), or if you know of any information about Josiah Littlefield, I would greatly appreciate you sharing your insight. I have almost completed my entire family line, and this is one of the last crucial pieces...
