Dear Brenda,

I wonder if you would mind checking the census records you mention for my
relatives. Johannes Koopmans (at some point he became John Koopman) was in
Newaygo County sometime after arriving in the US in 1882, and I imagine was
probably there in 1884. He had his children with him. His wife apparently
died on the trip to the US, but at some point he remarried a woman named
Aaltje. Johannes was my great grandfather.
