Well after all these years we have confirmed that the last name was Miranda when grandfather entered the USA in New Orleans. Unfortunately he wasn't located because they had him listed as Merando.

In the meantime we've also confirmed that he was born in Busaquino, Sicily, Italy, which is in the mountains south of Palermo and northwest of Agrigento.

Also, the Miranda's who settled in Plaquamine, LA from Campofiorito are most likely related since this town is just one town north of Busaquino and the name Peter runs throughout of family line.
