Hello,

My g grandfather, Mayow John GILSON, had a farm on Poseyville Road in Midland
County, Midland, MI. His great grandparents lived on Freeland Road near
Poseyville Road. I'm now aware this area was called the town of LaPort.

The Cemetery in Ingersoll township was called the LaPort Cemetery at that
time. I have found both Mayow and Ida's graves. Also that of a Mrs. Mayow
GILSON near by. It is rumored that there are two more graves, Mr. and Mrs.
GILSON'S grave.

Gilson, Mayow J. 10/24/1864 - 3/8/1908 father
Gilson, Ida O. 10/28/1866 - 10/12/1937 mother

In walking this cemetery, I found Mrs. Mayow GILSON'S grave nearby Mayow and
Ida GILSON'S. Does anyone have any info on this?

My Grandmother said that on Freeland Road near Poseyville Road there was a
farm owned by the GILSON'S who were the great grandparents to Mayow John
GILSON. Does anyone have a plat map that shows that area at the time of 1860
to the 1900's with any info on this.

Mayow John GILSON'S farm was on Poseyville Road near Freeland Road. The farm
of the grandparents ( or great grandparents of Mayow's) was the second plot
of land from the corner of Freeland Road and Poseyville Road on Freeland Rd.,
I think.

What county is Freeland Road in that would be the NE corner and E of Freeland
Road and Poseyville Road? Is it Midland County or Saginaw County? What
township would that be?

Any help out there is much appreciated.

Kindly,
Jan Johnson
