Betty, the bridge in Midland county is the Gordonville road bridge. That
is a new structure that was built to replace a steel truss bridge that
was on Brooks road I think. I think it was built in the seventies also.
And I think Gerald Stevens is correct now that I think about it, I don't
think there was a bridge crossing the Tittabawassee River at
Tittabawassee road until the bridge was built in the mid-seventies.
There was only the Gratiot road (M-46) crossing, the State Street
Crossing (oh! what a bridge that was!) and then until the Tittabawassee
road bridge was built you had to go all the way to Freeland Road to
cross the river. I was a deliveryman back then I remember how excited I
was that they were building the new bridge because it would cut off a
lot of travel time and miles when I had deliveries out that way. So
Scott, if you are reading this, I think we can say the picture is of the
Freeland road bridge in Freeland.
