I am taking the liberty of sending these notes from my Smith info for those
interrested.

Records will prove that the families of SMITH, KEES, CAGLE, and FURR were
all tracking together and can be traced from Lawrence County, Mississippi
back through Georgia to Moore County, North Carolina. They joined company
with the families of ALLGOOD and MAXWELL after reaching Georgia.

William and Delilah Kees Smith migrated from Franklin County, Georgia in
December of 1810, in the company of her parents and other families (Kees,
Allgoods, Cagles, Maxwells, other Smiths). They settled on Fair River in
the section of Lawrence County, Mississippi, that later became Lincoln
County.

Others in the party settled in Marion and Lawrence County, Mississippi.

The Fair River Baptist Church was organized in 1815, in the home of Louis
Dickerson. Among the charter members were those of the Smith, Kees,
Maxwell, and Cooper families. William Smith and Jesse Maxwell were leaders
in church, frequently serving as delegates to the associational meetings.
In addition to a religious center, Fair River served as an early county sear
and land office agency
