Georgia,
When I saw the name Mary Ann Harrison in your message I was
startled awake from my casual searching. I have been looking for a
Mary Ann Harrison who married a George Edgar 5 Aug 1812 in England. A son William Edgar was born and it is not known what became of George Edgar, but Mary Ann came to Halifax, Nova Scotia and married there a Reuben Galton. They had a son James Galton born 27 Feb 1821 and Reuben was buried 29 May 1822. Mary Ann left Halifax with son William and James and according to family ledgend came to Marine City, MI where she had relatives. William became a sailor and was drowned on Lake Erie. James Galton became a sailor and was one of my ancestors. Family legend says that Mary Ann married again and I have so far not found what happened to her. I have been searching for Harrison and Edgar families that might have been the relatives mentioned in our written family legends. So I am wondering what you might know about the Harrison family in St. Clair, MI.
