LADYMAN, ANNIS, STANTON, HOPKINS

Sherwood; Wilma A. LADYMAN, age 76, formerly of Sherwood, Mich. died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.

Wilma was born Sept. 16, 1923, a daughter of Rex and Rhea (ANNIS) LADYMAN in Sherwood. Her early years were spent in the Sherwood area moving to Stevensville, Mich. later in life and then in 1986 back to Sherwood area. A graduate of Sherwood High School with the Class of 1941, she then received her bachelor's degree in home economics from Western Michigan and later a master's degree in library science from Andrews University in Berrien Springs. She taught home economics at Athens School for 2 years and at Colon Schools for 8 years, then spent the rest of her career teaching at Lakeshore School District in Stevensville. She was a member of the American Education Association.

Wilma enjoyed traveling and had traveled to Nova Scotia, Alaska, to the Rose Bowl in California, New York, and the Canadian Rockies. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a sister, Leeta L. STANTON of Sherwood; a niece, Mrs. George (Ellen) HOPKINS of Tekonsha; 2 nephews, Edward R. STANTON of Edwardsburg and Erwin L. STANTON of Sherwood; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Lyle Lloyd LADYMAN.

Relatives and friends may call anytime Wednesday at the Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. of Colon, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home with Rev. Ronald R. Hawkins officiating.

If desired, memorials may be made to the Sherwood Crossroads Bible Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
