LESNIAK, PATRUS, SCHODOWSKI, MALONE, LEACH
South Bend, Ind.; Elizabeth Jane LESNIAK, 64, of South Bend, Ind. and formerly of Sturgis, Mich. died June 29, 1999 at her home.
She was born April 16, 1935 in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of Henry and Viola (PATRUS) SCHODOWSKI. Betty had been a South Bend resident the past 9 years, coming from Sturgis where she lived from 1972-1993. Prior to that she resided in Roseville.
On Oct. 9, 1954 she married John LESNIAK at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit.
Betty was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, South Bend and Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sturgis. She loved all of life. Betty enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Randy MALONE, Grayslake, Ill.; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Toni LESNIAK Jr., Sturgis; 4 grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Jim LEACH, Lake Orion, Mich.; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Laura SCHODOWSKI, Macomb, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis where the Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating the life of Elizabeth J. LESNIAK will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sturgis with the Rev. Father Leon Pohl officiating. Prayers before the Mass will be said at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis.
Memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, Ind. 46637. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
