LONG, PAINTER, ELDRIDGE
Fort Wayne, Ind.; William D. LONG, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Bethlehem Woods Rehab Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born in Sturgis, Mich. He worked in Human Resources with G.T.E. and Falstaff and retired in 1986. He was a U.S. Air Force retiree and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, VFW, Air Force Sergeant's Association, and the GTE Retiree's. He enjoyed stamp collecting and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine J. (PAINTER) LONG of Fort Wayne; two sons, David LONG of Newton, Pa., and Daniel LONG of Fort Wayne; a sister, Marian ELDRIDGE of Sturgis, Mich.; and three grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Calling is 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
