Hello Bernie,
No, this database is not a list of *every* landowner between 1806 and 1906.
It contains only the name of the person who received a land patent to from
the United States. Sometimes referred to as the "first owner". Sometimes the
patent was recorded at the local land office (i.e. Washtenaw County Clerk's
office in Ann Arbor). Subsequent transfers of land will be recorded at the
Washtenaw County Clerk's office. That would include transfers of land from
Aaron Blood to his sons (and others) and would include any court ordered
transfers of land if he died without a will and left real property. The two
Aaron Blood patent entries in the database were in 1826. His land
transactions after 1826 will be recorded in the Clerk's office in Ann Arbor.
Your URL points to a list that was derived from records from the General
Land Office (GLO). The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a website that
now has all of those records on-line. This site has been on and off-line
periodically since last September but I think the index search is currently
working. http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ Buying land from Uncle Sam was
complex process even in 1826 and the BLM site explains all the many terms
used and the process a settler used to obtain land from the government in
the Public Land States.
Hope this helps.
