Louis W. Doll wrote a book in 1959 giving the history of early Ann Arbor
Newspapers, 1829-1920. Wayne State University Press. Don't know where you might
find a copy. He also published several indexes of the early papers. They
are quite good. They are available at Bentley Historical Library and the
Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County library in Saline. The Ann Arbor Main
Library has on microfilm many of these early Ann Arbor papers. Karl Williams
