I have in my possession a "medal" with the following inscriptions:

Front: Detroit 1882
Back: 13th Annual Reunion June 14 & 15 1882

Since I do now know what this is about ... where might I locate a
newspaper of that date? This evidently is about something that happened
in 1869. Any suggestions?
