I am no expert on this, but I think the earliest directory was published in
1837 and then were printed irregularly until 1872. All of the years
published are available on microfiche through the LDS family history centers.

I would imagine the directories or filmed copies of the directories are
available at the Burton Historical Collection of the Detroit Public
Library. Find the (limited!) hours of operation and address at their website:
