My one greatest wish for Christmas would be to give my 80-year-old mother
some information about her mother. My Grandmother's name was either Edna
Josephine MUETHALL or Helen Edna MUETHALL. Apparently, she used both names
(For all I know her name was Helen Edna Josephine MUETHALL). The family
lived in Detroit. The 1920 census gives her birthplace as Michigan. I
estimate her birth year as about 1898-9. That's all I know about her, other
than she'd married Neil Armour MCTAGGART before 1913 which is an assumption
based on my uncle's birth year. My mother was born in 1921. Edna and Neil
split up shortly after that. He got my uncle, she got my mother. My mother
doesn't remember her mother. She believes that Edna married again to someone
named HODGES or something similar and died soon after. All my mother
remembers is her father coming to get her at a farm somewhere. The family
never talked about Edna, at least not around my mother. My uncle, Sheldon,
has died, so I can't ask him what he knows about her. I have no family
papers to work with and I have no idea where to look for the information I'm
looking for. I'm open for any suggestions.
