Sorry, I thought that since you mentioned 1910 that you were interested in finding them on the census. Soundex code is a way of grouping names by assigning numeric codes to the consonants in the surname. The censuses names for 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920 were coded for the state of Michigan as well as some other states. Once you find your surname on the soundex, you will know where to find them on the census.
