Hi Nancy

I too have Oakley Family from the Romulus area. My Oakley connection begins with William Oakley, married to Laura Hubbard about 1917/1918.

They had one daughter, Bernice, born in 1918. Laura died in childbirth. I remember Great Uncle Bill attending many of our Hubbard/Sykes gatherings over the years. He remarried a lady named Mabel. The last time that I remember seeing him was at my grandmother's funeral in 1962. My grandmother was named Irene Hubbard, sister to Bill's wife Laura.

I find Bill as a 12-year old boy, in the 1910 census for Romulus Township, Wayne County, MI. He was the son of Joseph, who was born in Michigan. Joseph's father came from New York.

There are also Oakleys buried in the Tyler Street Cemetery, in Van Buren Twp, Wayne County, MI. Would love to have more information on this family for my research.
