Dear Barb,

There was no death notice for Mary Green in the Detroit News from 2 January 1993-15 January 1993. The other Detroit paper is "The Detroit Free Press". The weekend and holiday newspapers are a combined newspaper for the Press and News.

You could either request a lookup by the staff at the main Detroit Library or you could try ordering the microfilmed copy of the Detroit Free Press though the Inter Library Loan (ILL) program. Check with your local reference library staff. To request a lookup from the Detroit LIbrary, which charges a fee of 2.00 or 2.50 and only looks at 3 days worth of newspaper, write to the following:
