Thanks for looking David. The SSDI on Ancestry has Victor Mattei Pontiac, Oakland, Michigan...I couldn't figure out the County exactly.
Now Ralph Mattei is listed on Ancestry but doesn't give place o residence. But on LDS Family search he is listed as

Death Date: Nov 1976
Social Security Number: 385-12-8540
State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Michigan

Death Benefit Localities
Zip Code: 48224
Localities: Detroit, Wayne, Michigan

Grosse Pointe Park, Wayne, Michigan

So I would think he died in Wayne Co. Detroiot area. I'll keep looking around and maybe his Obituary/death notice will pop up.
