I would try getting Archie/Arthur's obituary to see if it listed his survivors. Try finding a library that would have the major papers on microfilm or write to a local Buffalo or Erie County Genealogy Society to see if they can do a look up or recommend where to look.

Also check with your local library to see if they can order newspapers on microfilm through the Inter Library Loan (ILL) program.

Did you get his Social Security Application and verify that Arthur is Archie?

If he remained in Detroit after the divorce, you should be able to find him in a Detroit city directory which most likely will show a wife's name if he remarried.

The Bentley Historical Library in Ann Arbor Michigan has Detroit City Directories and will either do look up or you can request copies. Somewhere on their website, you can email your request.
