Dear Judith,

The Detroit Public Library has the Detroit newspapers on microfilm. You can search yourself at no charge except for the photocopy or you can request a look up but you must have the exact date of death (mm/dd/yyyy). They charge $15.00 to look at both the Detroit papers for 3 days.

Or, you can order the microfilms through the Inter Library Loan (ILL) program at your local library. The main Detroit Newspapers for 1964 are "The Detroit News" and "The Detroit Free Press". Generally there are about 2 weeks worth of papers on each reel.
