Do you know the dater of death for either grand parent? If you do, the death certificare may solve your delima.

If they died "within" the city limits of Detroit, there is one place to order the death certificate from.

If they died in Hamtramck then you must order the cert from Detroit.

Then again, the 'informant' would have to know the home town for them.
