Could anyone tell me how to go about to try to obtain a death record for a family member who died in Detroit between the year 1932-1942. Would anyone know if there is a Detroit city directory which would list him (that way I would know what year his name was removed from the directory and able to give me a better clue as to exactly what year he died).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
