I am a new subscriber to MIWEXFOR. I am seeking information about my paternal grand parents. My father's birth certificate shows that his parents were Hans Jacobson and Christina Jensen, and that they were both born in Denmark. The birth record also indicates that Hans was born ca 1852 and Christina ca 1870. Dates of death are unknown.

Here is what I know: My father was Adolph Jacobson and he was born in Cadillac on December 18, 1892, later moved to Graying, married Ruth Wilde of Detroit in 1920 and died in Grosse Pointe on December 29, 1955. I am the only offspring.

My father once told me that his father, Hans Jacobson, was killed in a forest fire, but he didn't say where or when. I located a Wexford County Probate Court record dated August 15, 1913 (Liber 26, page 584) indicating that my grandfather's heirs were Freda Jacobson and Adolf Jacobson. I believe Christina Jensen and Freda Jacobson could be the same person, Freda being my grandfather's wife and not his daughter as these court papers say. My father had said that his mother had married someone named Olson. He never mentioned having a half-sister, but he did say that he had a half-brother named Paul Olson (no dates or places, except that Paul had married someone named Helen and moved to California).

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone having further sources of information regarding the genealogy of my grandparents.
