Message Board Post:

Thanks Thomas for you help with my great grandfather Omer G. Mason. I
have his obituary which lists many of his accomplishments in Cass
County. I'm thinking there must be newspaper articles about him etc
as he was VERY prominent. For instance, he was minister of the Walker
Congregational Chruch, another church in Remer, president of the
Board of Education, chairman of the building commitee, Chairman of
the Commissioners, appointed by the governor to be a member of the
Exectutive Committee of the State Tax Conference, Vice President of
the State Conference of Charities adn Corrections, County director of
the Red Cross, President of the Remer Automobile Club, Director of
Cass County Farm Bureau, Moderator of the Duluth Association of
Congregational churches. My Grandmother said it was expected that he
would have become the next governor of Minnesota had he not died in
the flu epidemic. Anything you come across or any pointers would be
appreciated.
