Thank you very much, folks! I appreciate it very much! Yes, that would be the family. My grandfather was Nels. He eventually moved to Tower ( that is also where I was born) and that is where he died. Before that time, he had a first wife in Cass Lake. We do not know the wife's name but they had a very young child who died when he was in World War I. (could it be the young Beatrice Nelson who died in 1916?) Nels then married Ruth Warden, born in 1898 from Wadena. Here is a tricky part - my grandmother Ruth's father was Frank Warden and her mother was Edna Sargent. We can find no information on Edna - no birth records or such although some say she was from the Park Rapids area, or near a river. We are seeking her heritage as it all seems a mystery. My grandmother always stated that she was Norwegian and possibly part Native American - however we do not know if this is true. If my grandmother ( Ruth) was born in 1898, my great-grandmother (Edna) would have lived in the Cas!
s Lake-Park Rapids area in the years prior. Thank for any input - now that we know the names of the cemetary and saw mill, we hope to come to Cass Lake for a visit. Again, I appreciate your help and your replies. Warm Regards - KNelson.
