Examining old photographs in Chisago Lake Lutheran Church's archive, I found a young man named Oscar W. SHALEEN (photo about 1917 of confirmation class), who may or may not be related to me. I later find him in the 1930 census living in St. Paul with his wife, Alma M., maiden name KROONBLAWD. (He died 26 April 1932 in Ramsey Co. She died 2 February 1973 in Chisago County.) They had two children, Farrel L. SHALEEN, born about 1922, and Duane William SHALEEN, born 11 March 1930 presumably in St Paul (as he appears on the census there), died 4 January 1975 in Chisago County. If anyone knows anything further about Oscar W. SHALEEN or his wife Alma M. KROONBLAWD (mother's maiden name ANDERSON), I'd appreciate hearing from you.
