Mr. and Mrs. Peter Munson (wedding picture)
Peter MUNSON was born in Aurdal-Valdres, Norway, November 15, 1865, where he was reared and educated. He was a miller by trade and upon emigrating to Minnesota worked at his trade in Elizabeth, Minnesota.
In 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna SONVALD in Ashby, Minnesota. To this union three children were born, Bertha (deceased), Orlin, (Rugby) who still resides in the family home, and Roy, (deceased).
In 1901 Peter Munson and family came to Rugby with Charles Leistikow and family when the first Rugby Milling Company was built. He was the first miller in Rugby.
Peter Munson passed away April 23, 1910. At the time of his death he was an alderman and also a member of the school board.
Anna Munson was born in Spring Grove, Minnesota. She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors and Rebekah lodge; a charter member of the War Mothers; and a life member of the First Lutheran Aid. Mrs. Munson passed away April 15, 1957.
