Dear Listers,
I am new to your list. I was searching in Find a Grave this morning and came
across a Patricia J. McNerney who was born March 1937 and died November 1974.
She is buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
The name caught my eye being that first name seem to run in family's and my
aunt's name was Patricia J. McEnerny though she was born in 1920 in Ironton,
OH. Her father was Frank C. McEnerny b. 1892 in Akron, OH. His father was
Michael McEnerny b. 1846 in Ireland, and his father was John McEnerny born
about 1810 in Ireland most likely in Limerick. I have not been able to find
any record for John but I do know that he was dead before the 1870 census,
because his widow Mary (nee McMahon) was noted as widowed in that census of
Akron, OH.
My line immigrated first to Ontario, Canada about 1853 and then again in
either 1864 or 1867. There is an intent to naturalize in Ohio for Michael in
Marion County but according to his younger sister, Catherine, in the 1900
census they came down to the states in 1864.
Anyway, they are unaccounted for from 1864 until 1867. Seeing the name of
Patricia makes me wonder if they didn't stop off in MN before coming to Ohio.
Here is the URL to my family website. Please take a look and see if there may
possibly be a connection to any of your family lines.

If there is anyone that is also searching the McNerney line with all of its
variations, please contact me.
Best Regards,
Anne Marie
