Jeanie,

Reverend Herzer was a Lutheran minister. My husband's great-grandfather,
the Reverend Jacob Kogler, was assistant pastor in the early 1870s when
Rev. Herzer served as pastor at St. John's German Lutheran Church in
Minneapolis. Rev. Herzer also officiated at Jacob Kogler's marriage in
January 1875, and the marriage record identifies Rev. Herzer as "Minister
of the Gospel." Mrs. Emma Herzer was a witness. I believe Rev. Herzer
ministered to a number of other congregations outside Minneapolis during
his career, maybe even a couple simultaneously, as I have seen his name
associated with several other churches.

'Minister of the Gospel". I also have a marriage certificate of my great
grandparents Charles HOPPENRATH and Amelia REITZ married 1 April 1874

County. Can anybody give me any suggestions how I would go about finding
him and what church he represents. Steele County doesn't seem to have a
very large site, and though I did leave a query. I wasn't able to find
anything like a library there to ck about churches in that area in 1874.
They were German Lutherans is all I know.
