I guess I should have been a bit more specific when I posted earlier. It says on the Minnesota Historical Society that they have death certificates from 1908-1950. There are some that go back to before 1908 but none earlier than 1900. These are mainly death cards and are not complete death certificates.
It is a fairly simple process to look up the death certificates as long as you do the legwork beforehand. That means full name, date of death, certificate number. This can be found at the MHS death certificate search site. I also ask that you add some identifying information such as maybe parent's names, spouse's name, something along those lines - if you have it.
Cost of the copies is 25 cents each and I only ask for that and postage/mailing. I do enjoy searching these certificates - ghoulish, yes, but nonetheless, fun.
I just got out of the hospital and have my wings clipped for a few weeks so I will not be going back there before that time. Please make requests offlist so we don't clutter the list with all of this. Thanks.
