Hello lists and others,

I do not believe this to be "off topic" from a genealogy standpoint due to
the fact that Ft. Snelling has played a part in almost all of our ancestors
histories.

Some of you may know that the Minnesota Legislature has restricted funding to
the MNHS. One of the things that will happen due to this is the closing of
Ft. Snelling for 4-6 years.

I am a member of the 1st Minnesota Volunteers reenactors based at the Ft. (I
am an associate member).

On the 1st Minnesota website they have posted the Press Releases and have
links to the Minnesota Legislature and Senate.

Please take the time to BOMBARD their offices with e-mail.

We are in danger of losing way too much history in this world as it is, lets
do what we can to protect it.
