Has anyone else experienced problems with someone not appearing in the MHS
Death Index?
Since this one is so obvious to me, I am wondering if there are others that
are less obvious when I have been unable to find them.
My grandmother's death is not noted in the MHS death index.
She died in May 1996 and I thought maybe they had not finished the year yet,
but I see others for even December of that year in Hennepin Co., so I doubt
that is the case.
I was at her bedside when she died so I know where and when. I assisted my
father with funeral arrangements and my signature may even be on the death
certificate as informant. My father has Alzheimer's and I am not certain if
he signed it at the time or not. I know my father had a copy, but given the
bizarre activities that are associated with his illness, he may have thrown
it away. We caught him throwing photos away because "they are dead so what
difference does it make".
Yes, I can pay for another, but that isn't my point. My point is are other
people finding deaths that are not appearing?
My grandmother's name was Florence Englund. I searched the obvious
variations. I entered "starts with - Eng" and "F" for her name and the year
of death. I tried Ang - I tried every variation I can think of and used wild
cards. I tried differing the year as well.
Just seems interesting that it is not there.
