I am wondering if someone can help me locate a record online.



Several years ago when I was trying to locate my Zeppenfield ancestry I came
across an entry for a Zeppenfield online who had received a letter from a
president thanking him for his services.



Several months ago I made contact with one of his grandchildren who said
that they had felt he had a penchant for tall tales and that when he died
were amazed to find a letter in an attic from a president thanking him for
his services to the Pony Express. They had felt thought the pony express
was not in existence during his time and that his mention of it was one of
his tall tales.



I have looked to try and find again where this was mentioned but have not
been able to locate the record.
